The appointment puts a finance executive with experience across FMCG and automobiles at the helm of the $1.6 billion consumer-goods company. Malbari has spent three decades at GCPL, Tata Motors and Hindustan Unilever.
Nisaba Godrej, Executive Chairperson of GCPL, said “As Global CFO, Aasif brings deep command of GCPL’s strategic and operating rhythm. He has also led an outstanding transformation of our Africa business and I believe it's exactly the kind of ambitious, disciplined execution rigour GCPL needs across all our businesses for our next chapter.”
At GCPL, he has overseen the Africa business, where EBITDA margins increased to about 15% in fiscal 2026 from roughly 9% in fiscal 2024, according to the company. The business also expanded into air care while continuing to operate its hair-fashion portfolio.
Before GCPL, Malbari was CFO of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and a director at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles. He also held finance and business roles at Hindustan Unilever.
Malbari said his priorities would be to improve performance in GCPL’s core businesses and accelerate growth in new categories.
GCPL, part of Godrej Industries Group, operates across home, personal, hair and air care in more than 85 countries. It reported revenue of about $1.6 billion in fiscal 2026.
