Dabur launches sales training programme for rural youth

Consumer products firm Dabur India has launched a sales training programme for the rural youth under its Swavalamban initiative.

NEW DELHI: Consumer products firm Dabur India has launched a sales training programme for the rural youth under its Swavalamban initiative, which seeks to provide free technical training and skill development to improve the employability of young people from villages.

The company had last year offered training on merchandizing under the same initiative.

The first batch of 25 youth started sales training under the new programme on Thursday at the Rural Development and Self-Employment Training Institute (RUDSETI) in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district.

The initiative, run in association with RUDSETI, seeks to provide both training and guaranteed employment to rural youth.

“Unlike the previous training programme for youth that only focused on merchandizing, this one takes care of entire sales training,” said A Sudhakar, Dabur’s head of global human capital and corporate social responsibility.

The 240-hour course will include in-house coaching, field training and exams, as well as extra-curricular activities.
