Bhalla, currently vice president, Canada and global customers at confectionery maker Hershey Company, will take over the India chief role on April 15, Dabur said in an exchange filing.
ET first reported the development in its January 28 edition.
Bhalla will report to Malhotra. Hershey makes chocolate and confectionery brands Kisses, Reese’s, Jolly Rancher and SkinnyPop.
Consumer companies have seen a record number of leadership changes over the past one year. Hindustan Unilever, Britannia, L’Oreal, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Panasonic, Nestle, Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting and Haleon have all named new chiefs. While some have been exits, others such as Nestle, Wipro Consumer and Haleon announced new chiefs following the retirement of the incumbents.
Bhalla’s LinkedIn profile says he has had an over eight-year tenure at The Hershey Company across roles in Canada, Asia-Pacific, West Asia and Africa. He has also held roles in Metro Cash & Carry and Hindustan Unilever.
