Dabur appoints Hershey’s Herjit Bhalla as India chief; elevates Mohit Malhotra to global role

New Delhi: Packaged consumer goods maker ‌Dabur on Tuesday announced former Hershey executive Herjit Bhalla as its India chief executive, and elevated current chief Mohit Malhotra as global ‌CEO.

Bhalla, currently ‌vice president, Canada and global customers at confectionery maker Hershey Company, will take over the India chief role on April 15, Dabur said in an exchange filing.

Bhalla will report to Malhotra. Hershey makes chocolate and confectionery brands Kisses, Reese’s, Jolly Rancher and SkinnyPop.

Consumer companies have seen a record number of leadership changes over the past one year. Hindustan Unilever, Britannia, L’Oreal, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Panasonic, Nestle, Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting and Haleon have all named new chiefs. While some have been exits, others such as Nestle, Wipro Consumer and Haleon announced new chiefs following the retirement of the incumbents.

Bhalla’s LinkedIn profile says he has had an over eight-year tenure at The Hershey Company across roles in Canada, Asia-Pacific, West Asia and Africa. He has also held roles in Metro Cash & Carry and Hindustan Unilever.

Dabur, which makes Real juice and Vatika shampoo, reported a 7.3% increase in year-on-year consolidated net profit at Rs 553.61 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2025. Consolidated revenue grew by 6.1% to Rs 3,559 core. The company said demand trends in India witnessed gradual recovery following GST rate cuts.
