Philips awards global creative mandate to Ogilvy worldwide
The Dutch multinational electronics giant Philips has awarded its creative duties to the WPP agency Ogilvy worldwide.
In an email reply, Miles shared with ET, "The brief involved participation by many global offices, including New Delhi. India is a specific major country and the Philips team visited all four agencies in India."
These include - DDB, TBWA, Leo Burnett and Ogilvy & Mather. The pitch that has been going on since September involved an initial long list of agencies (12), which included DDB, the incumbent agency. Adds Miles, "After a presentation in Amsterdam, the list was cut to the four agencies mentioned."
The scope of the business includes advertising, digital, direct, and activation for the brand. Adds Sanjay Thapar, Group President - North & East, Ogilvy & Mather, New Delhi, "We will need to understand the business as well as integrate both globally and locally to ensure smooth transition and plan the next steps together with the client."
The win is definitely big news for the Ogilvy offices across the globe, and in India as well.
