BSH Home Appliances sells one million washing machines in India
The company said it has seen a huge surge in sales from the metro markets in South India and even smaller towns are now buying premium front load washing machines.
Neeraj Bahl, managing director and chief executive officer, BSH India said the company has continuously innovated, with unique features localized for Indian customers and developed global first product extensions. He said India is a priority market for the company.
BSH entered the Indian market in 2010. The company started off by importing Siemens products into the country. Soon after, it launched Bosch appliances in washing machines, refrigerators and dishwashers targeting the mass premium market.
In 2014, BSH launched a locally manufactured front load washing machine from its Chennai plant. In April 2018, the plant completed production of five lakh washing machines and last year, Bosch launched top loading washing machines in India as its first market ahead of its global launch. All Bosch and Siemens washing machines introduced from the Chennai factory are five star energy rated.
