Reserve Bank Central Board meets in Chennai

The Central Board meets at least once every quarter in Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata on rotation. Raghuram Rajan presided the meeting.

CHENNAI: The Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India today met with its Governor Raghuram G Rajan presiding over it.

The Central Board meets at least once every quarter in Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata on rotation.

RBI Board Members Anil Kakodkar, Kiran S Karnik, Nachiket M Mor, G M Rao, professor Dipankar Gupta along with Deputy Governors HR Khan and R Gandhi among others attended the meeting, an official spokesperson said.

The main function of the Board Directors is to provide overall direction to the Reserve Bank's affairs.

Earlier, Rajan inaugurated the financial literacy gallery, which explains the basic functionalities of a bank, at RBI Chennai branch.
