Bessemer funds ex-Firstsource CEO Ananda Mukerji's startup Anunta Tech
Anunta Technology Management Services has received funding from Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP).
The funding, quantum of which was not disclosed, will help the startup boost investments in sales and accelerate efforts towards the technology platform it is building for application delivery management. Bessemer will hold a double-digit minority stake in Anunta. Valley-based fund, BVP's portfolio globally includes LinkedIn, Skype, Pinterest and Gartner. In India, some of its investments are Spanco, ILFS, and Shriram EPC.
"For the last 20 years, there has been very little innovation in how applications have been delivered," said Mukerji, executive chairman, Anunta. Anunta was incubated by BPO firm Firstsource, which was originally set up as technology back office of private lender ICICI Bank. The idea for Anunta came from the need to ensure application uptime when BPO agents were using applications to provide services to clients.
"We are excited about the potential of cloud computing and server and desktop virtualisation. SMBs and large corporates have begun to adopt new age technologies and are looking at ways to cut cost and improve application performance," said Vishal Gupta, managing director of BVP India. "CIOs are expected to deliver high performance at lower costs and Anunta's platform helps companies achieve this by managing costs, increasing productivity and guaranteeing end-user satisfaction."
The startup already has four customers from the financial services and business services sectors. "Post deployment, Anunta's clients have seen 15-25% cost savings and significant improvements in end-user satisfaction with trouble tickets coming down by 90% through automated resolution by Anunta's product platform," a company statement said.
