Priyanka Chopra and husband Nick Jonas welcome their first child through surrogacy, request privacy during 'this special time'

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her husband Nick Jonas are parents!

The couple took to Instagram to share the good news with their fans as they welcomed their first child together. The actress, in a statement, revealed that the two became parents through a surrogate.

"We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate,'' the couple said.


Chopra and Jonas did not reveal their baby's name or gender. The couple requested for privacy regarding their newborn baby and family "during this special time as we focus on our family."

The two tied the knot in 2018 in India after dating for four months.

The three-day wedding celebration had both Christian and Hindu marriage traditions which took place at Rajasthan's Umaid Bhawan Palace.

Chopra and Jonas met at the grand fashion event Met Gala in 2017, where they both represented designer Ralph Lauren.

During a special interview which recently came out in Vanity Fair magazine, which put PeeCee on the cover, the actress had spoken about craving a balance and family life.


The interview, which was conducted last year around mid-2021 and was published last week, the 39-year-old talked about what she was looking forward in 2022. It included change and some downtime with family.

"I’ve always been such a worker bee," Chopra told the magazine. “My priority has always been the next job. I’m a very, very ambitious person. But I think the woman in me is craving balance. I’m craving my family life. I’m craving being able to do things for the soul that I didn’t do because I was just ‘blinders on’ and working,” she said.

The 'Barfi' star had hinted at starting a family with Jonas.

“They’re a big part of our desire for the future,” Chopra had said when asked about if her mother hopes for a grandchild. “By God’s grace, when it happens, it happens.”
