From Sachin Bansal's Twitter: 'If Covid lockdown happened in my childhood, my dad's business would have failed'

Sachin Bansal's hot take on the coronavirus lockdown.

Just last month, Bansal had sent out a tweet saying that Indians can’t lock themselves up at home for two years and wait for a vaccine.
Ex-Flipkart CEO Sachin Bansal recently took to Twitter and shared his thoughts on what would have happened had the lockdown taken place during his childhood. In a no-holds-barred tweet, Bansal expressed his concerns on the dwindling economy, the impact of the crisis on small businesses and the middle class households.

“If COVID lockdowns had happened in my childhood, my father's small business would have failed and I would have grown in poverty instead of a middle class household,” wrote Bansal.

He then sent out another tweet in which he wrote that he wouldn’t have been able to achieve a ‘fraction of what he did’ and that it is happening to lakhs of kids today.

Just last month, Bansal had sent out a tweet saying that Indians can’t lock themselves up at home for two years and wait for a vaccine (for Covid-19).

"We can't lock ourselves up for two years in homes waiting for a vaccine. India can't make use of the opportunities if our most productive people are locked in their homes,” wrote Bansal.

The ex-Flipkart CEO’s tweet came on the same day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a Rs 20 lakh crore stimulus package to revive the economy battered by Covid-19.

“Professionally, I want to go deeper into Artificial Intelligence (AI). I don’t know much about the subject. So, I will be spending a lot of time reading on it. I will be dabbling in articles on AI and coding sites on the internet. There are many DIY websites too that I am going to log in to learn about regression analysis using the AI model.”

“I have been so focused on mobility with my previous role at Uber that I feel it is time for me to step up and learn more about blockchain and fintech now. My startup is about simplifying global travel. I will be reading on how blockchain or any other technology can be used to make crossing borders easier for travellers.

“Personally, I want to travel with my wife, three-and-a-half-year-old daughter and my dog. While I travel quite a bit with my dog domestically, Croatia is on top of the list to visit with my wife and daughter. It has beaches, hills, interesting culture, and great beer. It will pack in all for a good family trip.”.
