Resignation letter handed over to governor: Sarma
Guwahati: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday resigned along with his ministerial colleagues, paving the way for formation of a new NDA government.

After meeting governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Sarma said, "I handed over my resignation letter to the Assam governor and simultaneously requested him to dissolve the current legislative assembly. The governor has accepted both requests."

Sarma added Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to attend the swearing-in ceremony, which is expected to take place after May 11.
