‘It is never a clash with you’: Varun Dhawan reacts to Janhvi Kapoor teasing him over Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai and Peddi releasing on same day

Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan’s playful social media banter is winning hearts on the internet. The Bollywood stars had previously shared screen space in the 2023 action romance Bawaal and the family romance drama Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, which released last year. Now, the duo is ready to witness a box office clash in June. While Janhvi and Ram Charan’s Peddi is set to premiere on June 4, Varun Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, also starring Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde, is arriving in the theatres a day later on June 5.

Now, Janhvi Kapoor has shared an Instagram post playfully teasing the face-off between the two films. In the clip, she can be seen cheering for Varun Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, lip-syncing to the film’s peppy track Wow. The video opens to Janhvi sporting a makeup-free look, before transforming into a glamorous avatar. Her side note read, ‘Guess we are clashing’, as she tagged Varun Dhawan.



Responding to Janhvi Kapoor, Varun Dhawan wrote in the comments section, ‘Omg it is never a clash with you, only (heart emojis) and you are wow.’ Janhvi and Varun’s light-hearted exchange displayed nothing but strong camaraderie between them. Despite their films locking horns along the same timeline, the duo turned their friendship into a warm celebration of each other’s projects.

Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor’s Peddi marks the actress’s first collaboration with Telugu star Ram Charan. The sports drama, helmed by Buchi Babu Sana, features an ensemble cast including Shivarajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyendu Sharma. Backed by Vriddhi Cinemas and Mythri Movie Makers, Peddi showcases Ram Charan as a wrestler. Janhvi was last seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
