Amid Vijay’s historic political milestone, his school teacher, Vasantha, has shared some never-heard-before anecdotes about the actor-turned-politician in a recent conversation with Galatta Pink. She acknowledged that Vijay was a shy and private person since his school days, unlike some of his aggressive and intense characters in movies.

Lauding Vijay’s leadership skills, Vasantha shared that whenever the school geared up for cultural events, Vijay would be the person entrusted with the responsibility of organising the function. ‘He was very obedient, honest, and very helpful to others. I feel very proud to say that Vijay was my student,' admitted Vasantha, adding that the actor was very soft-spoken and was amiable with his classmates.
Elaborating further, Vasantha spoke fondly about Vijay’s honesty and helpful nature towards his fellow students. The teacher added that even when the actor was scolded, he would never show anger or harbour any hard feelings against his mentors. Apart from his humble personality, Vijay was also a great dancer, noted Vasantha, which is also evident from his films. ‘He danced well even when he was in Classes 7 and 8. He would organise all the events,’ she said.
More about Thalapathy Vijay
In conclusion, Vasantha recalled that Vijay would mostly keep to himself at school. Since he was very quiet, nobody would even notice that he was at school, remembered the teacher. ‘When I watch his aggressive movies, I wonder if this is the same Vijay,’ Vasantha admitted. Some of her favourite movies of Vijay include Kushi (2000), Ghilli (2004), Thuppakki (2012), and Mersal (2017).
At present, fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere of Thalapathy Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan. The movie, directed by H. Vinoth, is a political action drama that follows the story of an ordinary man who rises against injustice and gradually transforms into a leader representing the voice of the people. Originally planned for a Pongal 2026 release, Jana Nayagan faced multiple delays due to censor concerns and its overlap with the Tamil Nadu Assembly election timeline. The final release date is yet to be officially confirmed
