Shah Rukh Khan’s simple life mantra that could explain his unmatched charm
Actor Divya Dutta, who is currently getting attention for her web series Chiraiya, recently spoke about Shah Rukh Khan and shared why she believes there is something deeply different about the superstar beyond his fame. The two worked together in the 2004 film Veer-Zaara, where Divya played Shabbo, a role that became an important point in her career.

Speaking in a conversation with Humans of Bombay, she reflected on Shah Rukh Khan’s journey and the way he carries himself even after decades in the industry.

Sjaj Rukh Khan's life mantra

Divya Dutta described Shah Rukh Khan as someone who has learned from his life experiences and turned them into something positive. She explained his mindset in a very simple way and said, “My reading of Shah Rukh is that he has seen loads of ups and downs in his life. The beauty of that he has been a learner. He has made it a mantra of his life that he is going to spread joy around him. How amazing is that?”

According to her, this attitude is not something he puts on for public image, but something he genuinely follows in his day-to-day behaviour.

A small flight moment that stayed with her

Divya also shared a personal incident from a flight after the IIFA Awards, where she was travelling along with Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza, and her mother. What started as a casual in-flight moment turned into something she still remembers clearly because of Shah Rukh Khan’s behaviour.

Recounting the experience, she said, “Shah Rukh is a very sensitive person. He knows ki mere aas paas kisko kya zarurat hain (what people around me should get). I remember travelling from the IIFA awards, and we were playing dumb charades. There was Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza and me, and the rest were all men. My mother was watching Gangs of Wasseypur, and Shah Rukh had placed his hand on the screen and moved it thrice to enact something. I thought if it were me, I would have been scolded, but my mother did not react and she was so happy that Shah Rukh acknowledged her.

She added, "There were 3 of us women. When we got off the flight he had a crazy following… There were people and security… There was a huge crowd cheering: ‘Shah Rukh!’ He waited for all of us to leave in our respective cars. How can you forget things like that? That's Shah Rukh. It is a wow factor.”

A lasting impression beyond stardom

For Divya, these moments define why Shah Rukh Khan stands out even in a crowded industry. She pointed out that it is not just his stardom, but his awareness of people around him and small gestures that leave a lasting impact.

On the work front, Divya Dutta is now seen in Chiraiya, directed by Shashant Shah, which began streaming on an OTT platform on March 20. The series deals with the serious issue of marital rape. In it, Divya plays Kamlesh, a small-town housewife who supports her sister-in-law Pooja, played by Prasanna Bisht, when she speaks up about abuse in her marriage.
