Election Results 2026 Rahul Gandhi
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday criticised Rahul Gandhi as early counting trends from the 2026 Assembly elections showed the BJP leading in West Bengal and Assam, while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was ahead in Puducherry. The Congress, meanwhile, was trending ahead in Kerala.

BJP shares social media post with electoral data

In a social media post, the Bharatiya Janata Party used sarcasm and shared an infographic targeting Rahul Gandhi, who is also the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. The party claimed that Rahul Gandhi has overseen 99 electoral defeats for the Indian National Congress across state elections and Lok Sabha polls since the mid-2000s.

The post framed this as a continuous losing streak and suggested it was nearing 100 defeats.

The infographic included a map marking years when the Congress lost elections in states such as West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, along with other regions up to 2026. According to the BJP’s post, these results reflect repeated rejection of Congress leadership under Rahul Gandhi.

The post was shared while votes were being counted in five states. At the time, trends showed the BJP ahead in Assam and West Bengal, while the Congress held leads in Kerala. The NDA was also leading in Puducherry.

The exchange highlights the continuing political rivalry between the BJP and the Congress. It also reflects the challenges faced by the Congress across several states, as indicated by the trends during the ongoing counting process.
