Opposition alliance will form govt in Assam: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge expressed confidence that the opposition alliance will secure 72-73 seats in Assam's assembly elections, accusing Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of corruption. Kharge challenged the RSS chief to respond to...

Addressing media persons, Kharge said, "The Congress-led alliance is going to form the next government in Assam. We will win 72-73 seats."
He alleged that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is the most corrupt chief minister and said RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat must give a reply to this. "No chief minister in India is so egoistic and arrogant like him. Sarma works only for his family. He is running illegal syndicates in tea, school, coal, egg, land and betel nut."
On Congress leader Pawan Khera's allegation against CM's wife, Kharge said, "All agencies are under the central government, which should probe the charges. They have already filed an FIR against Khera. Let them probe the matter. We will face the case as it progresses."
BJP COMPLAINT
The BJP on Tuesday said it has filed complaints with the Assam Police and the Election Commission against Mallikarjun Kharge for his alleged hate speech at an election rally in the state.
