According to early estimates for Day 1, the film has been rolled out across nearly 9,000 shows nationwide. It has already collected around Rs 24 crore on its opening day alone, taking its combined total (including paid previews/Day 0) to approximately Rs 75 crore. With such numbers coming in early, trade analysts expect the film’s collections to climb further as occupancy improves over the weekend.
The film features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Rakesh Bedi. The sequel had generated significant pre-release buzz, and that anticipation appears to be translating into strong footfalls. Once screenings stabilise and word-of-mouth spreads, the film is expected to post an even bigger opening phase.
Expectations are sky-high for the second instalment, with industry watchers predicting that it could rewrite box office records. There is growing belief that Dhurandhar 2 might even surpass the phenomenal performance of its predecessor, which reportedly earned around Rs 1,300 crore globally during its theatrical run.
Interestingly, despite the scale and revenue potential of the film, reports suggest that the cast has largely retained their earlier fee structures without major hikes. Ranveer Singh is said to have charged around Rs 50 crore for the project. Akshaye Khanna, who made a memorable cameo appearance in the first part, is reportedly being paid Rs 2.5 crore for his brief role in the sequel. Arjun Rampal’s remuneration is said to be around Rs 1 crore.
Meanwhile, veteran actors Sanjay Dutt and R Madhavan are reportedly earning Rs 10 crore and Rs 9 crore respectively, while Sara Arjun is said to have been paid approximately Rs 1 crore.
