Lessons from the legend Rajesh Khanna
During a session, Breakthroughs and Breakdowns, Akshay opened up about the guidance he received from Rajesh Khanna. The actor said he learnt many things from his father-in-law, but the most important lesson came from understanding the mistakes Khanna openly spoke about.According to Akshay, Rajesh Khanna used to sit with him and honestly talk about the errors he made during his career. The actor recalled, "I have learnt a lot from my father-in-law. What did I learn from him? I learnt what not to do. That’s actually the truth. He honestly sat down with me and used to tell me about the mistakes he had made. He was the number one superstar, India has seen that."
Akshay explained that these conversations helped him realise what not to do in life and in the film industry. Instead of only sharing stories of success, Khanna reportedly spoke about his struggles and missteps, giving Akshay a different perspective on fame and career choices.
Understanding the reality of fame
Rajesh Khanna, widely regarded as India’s first superstar, dominated Bollywood in the late 1960s and 1970s with a string of hit films. However, like many actors, he also experienced the ups and downs that come with a long career in the entertainment industry.By sharing his experiences with Akshay, he offered insights into the unpredictable nature of stardom. For Akshay, these lessons are kind of reminder that success in the film industry is not permanent and that every actor must remain aware of the challenges that come with fame.
Going forwadm Akshay also spoke about how discussions at home with his wife, Twinkle Khanna, have evolved over the years. He shared that conversations at their dinner table used to include debates about politics, but those discussions gradually stopped.
The actor said the family now prefers to focus on everyday life and personal experiences instead of engaging in heated arguments. According to him, avoiding such debates has helped maintain peace and harmony within his close circle.
Career ups and upcoming projects
