India–Greece defence talks stress strategic partnership, security & economic cooperation
India and Greece signed a Joint Declaration of Intent on strengthening the defence industrial cooperation, in a move to chart a five-year roadmap. Defence Ministers of the two nations met on Monday as they aim to expand the capacity of their respective indigenous defence industries through partnership between India’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and Hellenic defence reforms under 'Agenda 2030'.

They exchanged the Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan for 2026, charting the course for military engagements between the Armed forces of both countries. Greece announced the positioning of a Greek International Liaison Officer at the Information Fusion Center-Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR), Gurugram.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a bilateral meeting with Minister of the National Defence of the Hellenic Republic Nikolaos-Georgios Dendias in New Delhi, wherein they reiterated that the India-Greece Strategic Partnership is based on shared values of peace, stability, freedom, and mutual respect.


They discussed various issues of regional peace and security and acknowledged deepening bilateral defence cooperation and strategic ties. During the meeting, the two ministers highlighted convergence between both the ancient seafaring nations on various key maritime issues.

During the stay in India, the Hellenic Delegation also visited key defence & industrial establishments at Bengaluru and interacted with DPSUs, the defence industry and start-up representatives in New Delhi.

The visit reaffirms the strategic partnership between India and Hellenic Republic, which is based on a long-standing warm and close relationship between both countries and people, government said in a release.
