Kolkata: Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Monday lauded SC order on the special intensive revision of the electoral roll in West Bengal, saying the "one crore names that were targeted to be struck off", have been saved and it's the victory of "Ma, Mati Manush and the people of Bengal".

At a public rally in Bengal's Barasat, he said, "When our voting rights were being threatened, the Supreme Court gave them a firm rebuke."

"Today we have defeated them (BJP) in court. In the coming assembly polls, we will defeat them in vote. This is not UP, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh or Gujarat," Banerjee said. "BJP's SIR game is over now... This election is not about making Mamata Banerjee CM again or winning with two-thirds majority, this election is to punish BJP, teach them a lesson for depriving Bengal of funds. This is a bigger fight."
