JAIPUR: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that BJP is hatching "conspiracies" to win the assembly polls in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, referring to the Lal dairy and Mahadev app case.

"'Lal diary' was a conspiracy of the BJP. They thought it would become a big issue if the prime minister spoke about it. Similarly, the Mahadev app case...ED issued a press note but no investigation was done. The prime minister was speaking about it. The whole conspiracy was to arrest the Chhattisgarh chief minister, but they got exposed," Gehlot said at a press conference here, on the last day of the campaign.

Taking on the prime minister over his remarks on the late Congress leader Rajesh Pilot, Gehlot accused Modi and the BJP of trying to provoke the Gurjar community.

He claimed that 72 Gurjars were killed in police firing during the BJP rule when the community held an agitation to demand reservation. However, during his rule, there were no lathicharges despite the agitations and 5% reservation was given.
