'I’m begging you': Savannah Guthrie makes emotional new plea to her mother Nancy’s captors to 'do the right thing now'

Savannah Guthrie has shared another emotional public appeal as the search for her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, approaches the six-month mark. In a video posted on social media, the Today co-anchor directly addressed those responsible for her mother's suspected abduction, saying, "I’m begging you" to "do the right thing now" and reveal where Nancy can be found. Guthrie further pleaded with captors to make the right choice and tell us where to look for her. Authorities continue to investigate the case, while the family hopes the heartfelt plea will lead to new information about Nancy’s whereabouts.

The NBC journalist posted a video on Instagram on Monday, delivering a heartfelt message directly to those believed to be holding her mother, Nancy.

"It has been months since our mom was taken from us. Our family is in agony, we are in a nightmare that will not end. Nothing about our situation has changed. We have done our part and we will never stop looking for her," Savannah said in the clip.

"The world can be a cruel and unforgiving place, and I know that you have tried to do things the right way," Savannah said. "So I’m asking you, begging you, to do the right thing now. Make the right choice. Help us find her. Tell us where to look for her."

"For all of us, no matter where we’ve been and what we’ve done, I believe there is always a way home. Please make the right choice," Savannah added.

Nancy disappeared on the night of January 31 after returning to her Tucson, Arizona, home from a family dinner. She was last seen at about 9:50 PM, and relatives reported her missing the following day when they were unable to reach her. Soon after her disappearance, multiple ransom messages were sent to both media organizations and members of the Guthrie family.

One of the letters demanded $6 million in cryptocurrency in exchange for Nancy’s release. While investigators later concluded that several of the messages were fraudulent, the FBI has continued to treat the case as a kidnapping for ransom. Other notes claiming to be connected to the case have surfaced, but authorities have not verified their authenticity.

Savannah and her family have offered a $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy’s safe return. Despite months of investigation, no arrests have been made. Investigators continue to focus on surveillance footage showing a masked person outside Nancy’s home on the night she vanished, which remains one of the strongest pieces of evidence.
