Suri Noelle is the new legal name of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ daughter, who was previously known as Suri Cruise. According to a Page Six report, the 20-year-old officially dropped her father’s last name and adopted 'Noelle', which is Katie's middle name. The name change has fueled renewed public interest in Suri’s relationship with her estranged father, although neither Suri nor her parents have publicly commented on the decision. Suri has largely stayed out of the spotlight while pursuing her education and maintaining a private life.

According to Page Six, public records show that Suri registered to vote in Pennsylvania in October 2024 while attending her freshman year at Carnegie Mellon University. She registered in Allegheny County under the name Suri Noelle, suggesting that it is now her legal name. Tom and Katie welcomed their daughter, Suri, in April 2006. The couple married later that year in November before ending their marriage with a divorce in 2012.

The report notes that Pennsylvania law requires voters to register under their legal name, according to court officials cited by Page Six. While no record of a name change filing was found in Allegheny County, where Suri attends college, that does not rule out the possibility that the change was completed earlier in New York before she moved to Pennsylvania.


Before enrolling at Carnegie Mellon University, Suri lived in New York with her mother, Katie. In New York, legal name change records are typically sealed automatically or can be sealed upon request, making them unavailable to the public. Although the exact date of her legal name change remains unknown, Suri has publicly used the name Suri Noelle for several years.

Despite largely keeping a low profile, Suri made a rare public appearance in August 2025 when she was spotted visiting her mother, Katie, on the New York City set of Happy Hours, according to People. The pair were photographed strolling through the city together before Holmes began filming scenes for the movie alongside her former Dawson’s Creek co-star, Joshua Jackson.

Suri has continued to pursue her passion for acting since high school, where she played Morticia Addams in 'The Addams Family: A New Musical'. Now a musical theater student at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama, she has already appeared in Pittsburgh stage productions, including 'Cosmic Microwave Background'. She is also set to perform in 'Midsummer!', a contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, alongside fellow CMU students.
