Saudi Arabia's flyadeal to operate 5 weekly Riyadh-Mumbai flights from October 3

Saudi Arabian low-cost airline flyadeal will start five weekly flights between Riyadh and Mumbai from October 3, expanding its India network to two cities. The airline, part of Saudia Group, said the new service will add more than 7,400 seats a month between the two cities.

flyadeal will operate the Riyadh-Mumbai route with Airbus A320neo aircraft configured with 186 all-economy seats. The airline said the flights will provide connections via Riyadh to other Saudi cities, including Jeddah, Madinah and Dammam.

The airline began operations in India last month with flights connecting Riyadh and Hyderabad. Mumbai will now become flyadeal's second Indian destination.

The airline said the new route will serve business and leisure travellers as well as Indian expatriates travelling between India and Saudi Arabia. It also said Mumbai's position as India's commercial capital makes it an important addition to its network.

"India holds great importance in flyadeal's international growth strategy and adding Mumbai as our second Indian destination is a key milestone that expands our presence in this vital market," said Sanjiv Kapoor, Acting CEO of flyadeal and Executive Vice-President for Strategies at Saudia Group.

"Our new Riyadh-Mumbai service boosts capacity and gives the many Indian expatriates, business travellers and a growing number of tourists more choice and greater convenience when flying to and from the Kingdom," he added.

The new flights are scheduled to arrive in Mumbai in the morning from Riyadh, while the Mumbai-Riyadh service will reach Riyadh in the mid-morning, flyadeal said.

The expansion comes as Saudi Arabia's aviation sector increases its focus on international connectivity under Vision 2030. Saudi carrier Riyadh Air also began Mumbai-Riyadh services earlier this month, marking its entry into the Indian market.

flyadeal said it expects to more than double its network and fleet by 2030, taking the airline to more than 100 destinations and aircraft. It plans to add Airbus A321neo single-aisle aircraft and A330-900neo widebody aircraft from 2027.

The airline currently serves more than 40 seasonal and year-round destinations across Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, Europe, North Africa and South Asia. Its fleet comprises 47 Airbus A320 family aircraft based in Riyadh, Jeddah, Madinah and Dammam.
