Fireflies.ai joins Rotterdam Dockers as founding investor ahead of inaugural ETPL

Artificial intelligence productivity platform Fireflies.ai and its founder and chief executive officer, Krish Ramineni, have joined Rotterdam Dockers as founding investors ahead of the inaugural European T20 Premier League (ETPL), the franchise announced today.

Rotterdam Dockers, one of the six founding franchises in the ICC-sanctioned ETPL, said Ramineni has joined an ownership group that includes former South African cricketers Jonty Rhodes, Faf du Plessis and Heinrich Klaasen, Bollywood actor John Abraham and franchise Managing Director Madhukar Shree.

Fireflies.ai is an AI-powered workplace productivity platform that automates meeting notes, transcriptions, summaries and action items. The company says it has more than 20 million users worldwide and is trusted by over 75 per cent of Fortune 500 companies.


Ramineni has led Fireflies.ai's growth into one of the best-known names in artificial intelligence. He is also an early investor in technology companies including OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity and SpaceX. A long-time cricket follower, he has also played tennis at the school and college levels.

The franchise said the investment represents another milestone in Rotterdam Dockers' long-term vision of combining global business leadership with sporting excellence as it prepares for the inaugural ETPL season.

Welcoming Ramineni to the ownership group, co-owner Heinrich Klaasen said his passion for cricket and experience in building one of the world's leading AI companies would be a valuable addition to the franchise and strengthen its vision.

Managing Director Madhukar Shree said the investment was about more than capital, adding that Ramineni's experience in scaling global technology businesses and building high-performance organisations would help accelerate the franchise's commercial growth and strengthen its ecosystem for partners and fans.

Ramineni said he had closely followed the Rotterdam Dockers since their inception and described becoming a founding investor as a special moment for Fireflies.ai. He said cricket's global audience and Europe's growing potential presented a unique opportunity, adding that he hoped to bring the same mindset used to scale Fireflies.ai—embracing speed, artificial intelligence and innovation—to help the Dockers compete on the field.

The Rotterdam Dockers are one of six founding franchises in the ETPL, a competition designed to accelerate the growth of cricket across Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands by bringing together international and domestic players. The franchise said its partnership with Fireflies.ai reinforces its ambition to build sustained success both on and off the field.

The inaugural ETPL is scheduled to be held from August 26 to September 20, 2026, with Voorburg in the Netherlands and Dublin, Ireland, serving as the host cities.
