Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accused the Samajwadi Party of disrupting the Assembly's monsoon session
New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has accused Samajwadi Party of disrupting the monsoon session of the assembly and depriving the youth, farmers, women and the poor of a debate on the government's over ₹59,000-crore supplementary budget, which was passed amid Opposition uproar before the House was adjourned sine die, a day ahead of schedule.

Addressing reporters after the session ended, Adityanath said the supplementary budget contained provisions for employment generation, skill development, welfare schemes for farmers and the poor, women's empowerment, infrastructure projects and enhanced social security for contractual workers. "Samajwadi Party's conduct is anti-youth, anti-farmer, anti-women and anti-poor. It did not allow a discussion on measures meant for the welfare of these sections," he alleged.

He said the budget earmarked funds for a proposed outsourcing commission to ensure minimum remuneration and social security benefits for outsourced workers, adding that the mechanism would be rolled out soon. He said allocations had been made to increase honorarium for anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, midday meal cooks, village chowkidars and fair price shop dealers, while expanding the coverage of welfare schemes.
