Rijiju urges MPs to participate in anti-paper leak Bill discussion in Parliament on Monday

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Sunday appealed to all Members of Parliament to participate in the discussion on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, scheduled to be taken up in Parliament on Monday.

In a post on X, Rijiju said the government had taken "historic decisions" under Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the future of students after "listening to the voice of the young generation."

"After listening to the voice of the young generation and the historic decisions taken by Prime Minister Modi for the future of students, I appeal to all the MPs to participate in tomorrow's The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill," Rijiju said.

The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, proposes significantly tighter penalties for examination authorities, service providers and institutions involved in paper leaks and organised examination fraud.

It comes at a time when the government moves to strengthen the country's anti-paper leak law amid the recent nationwide CJP-led agitation over the alleged NEET paper leak.

Centre set to introduce Anti-Paper Leak Amendment Bill

The anti-paper leak Bill includes provisions for fast-track courts, stricter punishments and measures to strengthen the examination system amid nationwide protests over alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2026.

Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh will move for leave to introduce the legislation.

The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, dubbed as anti-paper leak Bill introduces seven key amendments designed to plug enforcement loopholes, establish dedicated judicial mechanisms, and accelerate criminal trials following widespread irregularities in the NEET-UG 2026 examination.
