New Delhi: NDA MPs and Union ministers greeted PM Narendra Modi by waving the tricolour and raising slogans of 'Vande Mataram' and 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' as he arrived at GMC Balayogi Auditorium of the Parliament House complex to attend the ruling coalition's weekly 'Mangal Milan' meeting here.

The PM reciprocated the gesture by holding a national flag himself and waving it towards the members. Those who attended the meeting included BJP president Nitin Nabin and Union ministers Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, Nitin Gadkari, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and S Jaishankar and other ministers and leaders from NDA parties. The NDA parliamentary party meeting is held every Tuesday when Parliament is in session.

Soon after the meeting, NDA MPs staged a protest outside Parliament's main gate, 'Makar Dwar', where they came face-to-face with Opposition INDIA bloc MPs, who were holding a separate protest. The ruling alliance members protested and raised slogans over the "brutal" police action against job aspirants in Jharkhand and accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of "running away" from a debate on student protests in different parts of the country.
