Nothing less than Rahul Gandhi's apology, says BJP
New Delhi: The BJP reacted strongly to leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi's allegations regarding the firing on protesting students, and that it was done on the orders of the union home minister.

"Rahul Gandhi should know that the decision to act in a protest is being taken by the SDM, who is at the spot and who takes a decision based on the ground situation. Rahul is lying that the home minister ordered it. He is always shifting goalposts and misleading the nation," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said at a press conference at the party headquarters.

Patra said it is a fight between two sides who want to take political mileage from the protest.

"CJP and Gen Z friends were protesting. The government called them for a dialogue and the issue was resolved. Now Rahul Gandhi is engaged in Credit Chori," he said. "BJP and the nation want Rahul Gandhi to apologise for the baseless allegations he made."

Earlier, union parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju told media persons that Rahul Gandhi doesn't know even the basics.
