Hailing youth, Uddhav Thackeray says this is just start

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray said on Sunday that the youth wrote a "golden chapter" by forcing Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign and that the "spark" created by the students would go against the BJP.

The former chief minister of Maharashtra said the struggle was not over yet and hinted that the next stir could be over ethanol-blended petrol.

"This is just the start of the struggle," he said, speaking at the end of a joint march held with cousin Raj Thackeray of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. "It is now the BJP versus Bharat and in this struggle all of us should forget our caste, community, religion and come together. Everyone came together as a nationalist against this government. A cockroach has brought down an autocrat," he said.


The Thackeray cousins had called for a protest march to seek Pradhan's resignation, but after the resignation of the union education minister on Saturday, they said they would carry out a "victory march" at Shivaji Park in Dadar. They said that it would be a political march and other party leaders too could come and participate. NCP (SP) leader Rohit Pawar participated to lend his support to the march.

Uddhav Thackeray attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ministers. "I want to tell Modi ji, at least now focus on the country. Your ministers are leaving their work and are breaking parties. Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman is not talking about the falling rupee or about inflation, but she is giving out examples of how paper leaks are beneficial. Defence minister Rajnath Singh is not speaking about defence but defending Dharmendra Pradhan...." he said.
