Kolkata, Jul 29 (ANI): Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) chief Bimal Gurung along with party leader Roshan Giri presents an idol to West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari during a meeting, in Kolkata on Wednesday.
Kolkata: Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) president Bimal Gurung on Wednesday said he is hopeful that the Gorkhaland issue will be resolved through discussions with the central government and a permanent political solution will be reached.

Gurung said this after a meeting with West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari. "We are hopeful of a permanent political solution for Darjeeling hills soon through tripartite meetings, considering that the state and central governments are run by the same party," Gurung said. "There was an extensive discussion on the issue. We also discussed several pending matters. We mainly focused on the problems in our region and finding a one-time solution to them."

He said a Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA)-related meeting is likely to be held in Siliguri within the next three to four days, where the issue of GTA elections will be discussed.
