CJP demands CEC Gyanesh Kumar's resignation in 48 hours

New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party on Thursday demanded chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's resignation, warning of a nationwide agitation if he does not quit within 48 hours.

CJP founder Abhijit Dipke said: "If Gyanesh Kumar does not resign within 48 hours, we will start a nationwide protest, before coming for a protest in Delhi." He added: "If CEC doesn't resign, 'Jantar Mantar 2.0' will definitely happen."

CJP also announced an 'Election Thik Karo' campaign, similar to their earlier 'School Thik Karo' initiative.

Dipke urged Opposition parties not to participate in polls if they believe the elections are rigged. "We are in a difficult phase: The right to vote is being snatched... If you know elections are being rigged, you cannot participate. You will have to take a stand," Dipke said.

The CJP founder alleged that CEC Kumar was the "biggest threat to Indian democracy" and accused the ECI of deciding who would be allowed to vote. "Who is Gyanesh to revoke our right to vote?" he asked.

Following the ET story on Gen Z being kept out of the voter roll, CJP's Saurav Das alleged that steps are being taken to keep the young voters out, as the ruling BJP feels Gen Z is not supporting them.
