On social media, Yadav shared a video clip of Patel's address at the convocation ceremony of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University on Thursday.
During the event, Patel expressed concern over the quality of food that students procured from outside, the functioning of hostels, ongoing repair work, the mess and canteen arrangements, and the growing menace of drug abuse among the youth.
She also remarked that such shortcomings were being noticed in Gorakhpur, considered the political stronghold of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Referring to the governor's remarks, Yadav in a post on X said, "While exposing the 'Gorakhpur Model', the irregularities of the so-called 'Gujarat Model' have also come to light by way of comparison. What is common between the two is that both are governed by the BJP, and both are marked by massive corruption under BJP rule.
Their internal conflict has turned the 'double engine' into a 'trouble engine'."
The BJP was yet to respond to Yadav's remarks.
