Vivo S2 launched at Rs 39,999: Check price, camera, battery, specs, sale date and offers

Vivo has launched the vivo S2 in India, bringing back its S Series with a smartphone aimed at consumers looking for a premium design, advanced cameras and strong everyday performance without moving into the flagship price bracket.

The vivo S2 combines a 3D curved AMOLED display, 50MP Sony main camera, 32MP selfie camera, 7050mAh battery and MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Turbo processor. The phone also runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and comes with a range of AI-powered features.

Vivo S2 price in India and sale date

The vivo S2 will be available in Silk White, Sapphire Blue and Regal Bronze colour options.

The India prices are:

• 8GB RAM + 128GB storage – Rs 39,999
• 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – Rs 44,999

The smartphone will go on sale from August 11, 2026, through the vivo India website, Flipkart, Amazon and participating retail stores.

Vivo S2 launch offers in India

Vivo is offering several launch benefits to buyers of the S2.

Customers can get up to 10% instant cashback on selected bank cards and UPI transactions, or opt for up to 15 months of zero down payment on select partners. Buyers can also receive up to 10% V-Upgrade exchange bonus.

Other offers include a flat 40% discount on V-Shield screen damage protection and a one-year free extended warranty.

Online buyers can also get selected bank discounts, exchange bonuses and no-cost EMI options. The offers are applicable to selected banks and platforms, with terms and conditions applying.

Vivo S2 design and display

The vivo S2 is built around a slim and lightweight design, measuring 0.799 cm in thickness and weighing 197 grams.

The three colour options are designed around different textures and finishes. Silk White takes inspiration from silk, Sapphire Blue draws from the appearance of Kashmir sapphire, while Regal Bronze features a metallic-inspired finish.

The phone features an iconic camera module and a 17.35cm (6.83-inch) 3D curved AMOLED display.

The panel offers 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support and up to 3000 nits local peak brightness, making it suitable for streaming, gaming and everyday scrolling.

Vivo has also included symmetrical dual speakers for a more immersive audio experience.

Vivo S2 camera features

Photography is one of the major highlights of the new vivo S2.

The smartphone comes with a 50MP Sony main camera on the rear and a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording.

The phone also features Dual View Video, allowing users to record simultaneously using the front and rear cameras. This could be particularly useful for vloggers and social media creators.

Other camera modes include Night, Portrait, Panorama, Ultra HD Document, Slo-mo, Time-lapse, Supermoon, Pro, Food and Dual View.

Vivo S2 gets AI Erase 2.0 for photo editing

The vivo S2 also comes with AI Erase 2.0, which is designed to remove unwanted objects and distractions from photographs.

The feature is part of Vivo's wider push towards AI-assisted imaging, giving users tools to edit photographs without relying entirely on third-party applications.

Vivo S2 battery and performance

The smartphone packs a 7050mAh battery with support for 44W FlashCharge.

Vivo says its Battery Life Extender technology is designed to help maintain battery health over the longer term.

Under the hood, the vivo S2 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Turbo processor, built using a 4nm process. The company claims an AnTuTu score of up to 970,000.

The processor has an octa-core CPU with a maximum clock speed of 2.5GHz.

Vivo S2 cooling system for gaming

To maintain performance during demanding tasks, the smartphone features an Ultra-Large VC Smart Cooling System.

It includes a 3,810mm² vapour chamber and a total cooling area of more than 23,000mm².

The cooling system is designed to manage heat during extended gaming sessions, prolonged video recording and long periods of content consumption.

The phone is available with up to 8GB Extended RAM, while RAM Saver and App Retainer are designed to support smoother multitasking and keep frequently used applications ready in the background.

Vivo S2 durability and water resistance

The vivo S2 comes with IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, along with what Vivo describes as military-grade durability.

The combination is intended to provide additional protection against dust, water exposure and the everyday knocks and bumps associated with regular smartphone use.

The vivo S2 runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, bringing several AI and productivity features to the phone.

These include Shake & Share for transferring photos and videos between supported devices, while Origin Island provides contextual notifications and quick access to information.

Drag & Go allows users to move content between supported applications more easily.

The phone also features AI Creation, which can help users generate, rewrite, summarise, translate and polish content, along with AI Captions for transcription, translation and meeting summaries.

Vivo S2 gets Google Gemini and Circle to Search

The smartphone also supports Circle to Search with Google, allowing users to search for information using objects, images or text displayed on the screen.

Google Gemini provides additional assistance through features such as live camera and screen sharing.

Vivo's AI Smart Call Assistant offers functions including call transcription, translation and summaries, while tools such as Super Documents, Private Space and Origin Island are designed to improve productivity and organisation.

Vivo S2 supports cross-device connectivity

The vivo S2 also includes vivo Office Kit, which connects the smartphone with computers for cross-device productivity.

Supported functions include Screen Mirroring, File Transfer, Task Handoff, Notes Sync and Super Clipboard, allowing users to move files and content between compatible devices.

Vivo said the S2 is manufactured in India as part of its "Make in India" commitment.

The smartphone is produced at Vivo's Greater Noida manufacturing facility, which the company said employs around 8,000 men and women.
