Vivek Oberoi's Rs 14 crore Juhu Bungalow in Mumbai features Goan farmhouse aesthetic with antique furniture, lush greenery, a generations-old family bed and even a pet cow named Kamadhenu

Vivek Oberoi has turned his Mumbai home into a tranquil retreat that feels worlds away from the city's fast-paced lifestyle. Inspired by the warmth and simplicity of a Goan farmhouse, the actor's residence combines antique furniture, greenery, natural elements and quirky details — including a pet cow named Kamadhenu.

In 2024, Oberoi gave viewers a rare look inside his home through Urban Company's Reels to Rooms, offering a glimpse into a space designed to reflect his personality and his life with wife Priyanka Alva.

Juhu Bungalow worth Rs 14 crore

Vivek Oberoi and his wife, Priyanka Alva Oberoi, purchased a bungalow in Mumbai's Juhu in 2019 for Rs 14.25 crore. According to media reports, the property spans 234.20 square metres and has a carpet area of around 2,100 square feet. The stamp duty paid on the transaction was reportedly Rs 85.50 lakh.

The actor is also known for his luxury car collection, which reportedly includes a Lamborghini Gallardo valued at around Rs 3.11 crore and a Chrysler 300C Limousine estimated at approximately Rs 4.5 crore. His collection is also said to feature Mercedes GLS 350D and Mercedes GLE 250D SUVs.

A village-like retreat in the heart of Mumbai

Oberoi began the home tour by introducing Kamadhenu, his pet cow, who has become an unusual but important part of the property. The actor said having a cow around helps recreate the feeling of living in a village, despite being in the middle of Mumbai.

“This is more her house than mine. The aroma of a cowshed gives you a feel that within this city, you are living in your own little village,” he said.

For Oberoi, the home also serves as an escape from the world of acting. While his profession requires him to step into different fictional characters, he said his house is where he can leave that persona behind.

“I work in a world of make belief where everything is superficial but when I walk back from the world to my home, I am not the actor Vivek Oberoi, I am just me,” he said.

Goan charm defines the interiors

The influence of Goa can be seen throughout the house, with wooden furniture, ornate chandeliers, indoor plants and a large portrait of Goddess Lakshmi adding to its earthy aesthetic.

Instead of going for an entirely modern or polished look, Oberoi and Priyanka chose furnishings and design elements that made the home feel warm, lived-in and connected to nature. Sustainability and their relationship with Goa were also central to the design.

“The idea was that this home should come from me and Priyanka, and what it represents is our life. When we bought this house, we wanted it to reflect Goa. Everything that you see outside, inside is the essence of a farmhouse,” he said.

An antique bed filled with family memories

Among the home's collection of antiques, one vintage bed carries special significance for Priyanka's family. The piece has been passed down through generations and has become one of the most meaningful objects in their bedroom.

“This bed has been in Priyanka’s family for half-a-century and maybe even longer than that. So, I love it because my earliest memory as a 4-year-old is sleeping in a bed like this and feeling cozy and secure while listening to stories from my dadi,” he said.

The antique furniture lends the house a sense of history, while the greenery surrounding the property keeps nature at the centre of the living spaces.

Oberoi was visibly emotional as his adopted daughter Sahara Shah announced her acting debut at a cancer awareness event in Mumbai. The 22-year-old, who battled cancer as a child and is now cancer-free, surprised Oberoi by revealing that she had signed a Nepali film as the lead actor.

Sahara made the announcement at the CRPA Cancer Rose Day event on Tuesday, where she took to the stage, sought Oberoi's blessings and unveiled the poster of her debut film in his presence.

Vivek Oberoi's Dubai business

Vivek Oberoi has reportedly built a real estate portfolio worth over Rs 1200 crore, a figure that has sparked surprise and admiration alike. In a recent interview with Dubai Property Insider, Vivek credited his move to Dubai as the turning point in his entrepreneurial journey.

“You have complete freedom. Just respect the local laws, customs, and people, and you have no problem. It’s a conflict-free, relaxed space where you can thrive,” he added. He reportedly became a crorepati in his teens through early investments. Today, Vivek heads BNW Developments, a UAE-based luxury real estate firm. According to Fortune India, the company’s current valuation stands at a staggering USD 7 billion in assets.

A home that celebrates imperfections

Another distinctive feature of Oberoi's residence is the way it brings the outdoors indoors. Large windows open up views of tall trees, making the surrounding greenery an extension of the home's interiors.

The backyard follows the same philosophy, with details such as exposed pipes and a visible tap deliberately left as part of the overall aesthetic instead of being concealed.

For Oberoi, these imperfections add character to the property. He said he prefers the unusual details over making every part of the home look perfectly finished.

“We like this quirkiness and madness,” he said while concluding the tour.

Oberoi has appeared in several popular Hindi films, including Saathiya and Omkara, among other projects.
