US President Donald Trump has said the White House has ordered 250 Cadillac Escalades for use in his presidential motorcade, describing the luxury SUVs as vehicles that enhance the appearance of the presidential fleet.

Trump made the announcement during a speech at a General Motors testing facility in Milford, Michigan, where he praised American automobile manufacturing and workers.

Trump highlights Escalade order during Michigan address

Addressing the gathering, Trump said the administration had placed an order for 250 Escalades and praised the vehicle’s appearance.


“The one and only Escalade,” Trump said during his nearly hour-long speech. “We look sharp in those Escalades.”

He added that officials involved with the motorcade preferred the vehicle, saying, “Our guys are very spoiled. They’re very spoiled. They like the Escalade. So do I.”

Luxury SUV features advanced technology, performance upgrades

The 2026 Cadillac Escalade is Cadillac’s flagship sport utility vehicle and comes with a starting price of around $91,100, with higher-end versions costing significantly more. The performance-focused V-Series variant is priced at around $170,000.

The SUV is equipped with a 6.2-litre V8 engine producing 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It offers towing capacity of up to 8,100 pounds on standard wheelbases.

The vehicle also features adaptive air ride suspension, Magnetic Ride Control and an electronic limited-slip differential for improved performance and handling.

Escalade offers premium interiors and driver assistance features

The 2026 Escalade includes a 55-inch curved pillar-to-pillar display system, along with an available AKG audio system with up to 42 speakers. It also supports Google built-in features and offers Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology.

Additional available features include night vision, a full-colour head-up display, enhanced automatic parking assistance and advanced safety systems such as blind zone steering assist, lane change alert and forward collision alert.

The SUV’s interior includes three rows of semi-aniline leather seating, second-row captain’s chairs, massaging front seats, rear-seat entertainment options, ambient lighting and a dual-pane power glass roof.

Trump praises US auto workers and iconic vehicles

During his remarks, Trump also highlighted other General Motors vehicles, including the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra and Hummer, calling them some of America’s most recognised automobiles.

He thanked General Motors workers, technicians, mechanics, welders and engineers, saying their efforts had contributed to building and strengthening the country’s automobile industry.
