Today Weather Updates (August 5): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to extremely heavy rainfall across several parts of the country on Tuesday, with Assam and Meghalaya likely to receive isolated extremely heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are also expected in many states, while squally weather conditions will prevail over parts of the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Assam & Meghalaya

• Orange alert for East Garo Hills, North Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills, West Garo Hills in Meghalaya.
• Orange alert for Bongaigaon, Dhubri, Kokrajhar in Assam.
• Extremely heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places.
• Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also likely at isolated places.

Arunachal Pradesh
