TGBIE extends Telangana Intermediate Admission 2026 deadline

The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has extended the deadline for first-year Intermediate admissions for the 2026–27 academic session. As per the revised schedule, students can now complete their admission process until August 15, 2026.

Colleges Covered Under Revised Schedule

The extended timeline applies to admissions in various junior colleges affiliated with TGBIE, including:

  • Government and private colleges
  • Residential institutions such as Telangana Residential, Social Welfare, Tribal Welfare, Model, and BC Welfare colleges
Students are advised to verify the affiliation of their chosen college through official TGBIE portals before applying.


Eligibility and Admission Criteria

Admissions will be granted based on:

  • GPA and subject-wise grade points
  • Marks obtained in the qualifying examination
  • Submission of Aadhaar is mandatory for all students during admission.

Reservation Rules and Seat Limit

Colleges must follow the prescribed reservation policy strictly. Additionally:

  • Private unaided colleges must adhere to approved intake capacity
  • Each section can have a maximum of 88 students

Transparency and Student Safety Measures

To ensure a fair admission process, institutions have been directed to:

  • Display updated details of available and filled seats
  • Maintain proper admission records
Special provisions include recording the mother’s name instead of the father’s for children of Jogini women, as per official records. Colleges must also ensure safety arrangements for students and collect an Anti-Drug Declaration signed by both students and parents.

Guidelines for Foreign Students

For foreign nationals or OCI students, colleges must submit required details to the local police within 24 hours of admission, as per regulations.

Strict Compliance Mandatory

TGBIE has warned that institutions failing to follow the guidelines may face strict action, including penalties or disaffiliation. Colleges are expected to complete admissions in line with all board instructions.
