The Telangana government has declared the day a holiday for government offices, schools and colleges in the specified areas. According to a government order, November 14 will be observed as a working day in lieu of the September 25 holiday.

The closure comes as Hyderabad prepares for the large-scale Ganesh immersion procession, with arrangements being made for crowd management and traffic regulation.

Andhra Pradesh schools closed amid heavy rain

Several districts in Andhra Pradesh have announced school closures amid heavy rainfall linked to the deep depression over the Bay of Bengal.

The affected districts include Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Visakhapatnam, Alluri Sitharama Raju and Anakapalle. Schools and Anganwadi centres in these districts were among those closed as authorities responded to the weather conditions.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast further heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of the region, prompting district administrations to take precautionary measures.

Odisha school holiday: Which districts are affected?

Several Odisha districts have also announced school closures amid heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions.

The districts mentioned in the latest reports include Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput and Khurda, with closure orders varying by district. Malkangiri, in particular, has announced that schools and Anganwadi centres will remain closed through September 25.Parents should check district-level orders because the duration of the holiday is not uniform across Odisha.

Ayodha School Holiday Today:

Ayodhya district administration has announced a holiday for all schools, from nursery to intermediate level, on September 25 due to expected heavy rainfall. The order, issued by the District Magistrate, requires all authorities to ensure compliance with this directive.

In Varanasi, the water level of the River Ganga has dropped below the warning mark, leading to a buildup of silt along the riverbanks. The Varanasi Municipal Corporation has increased its cleaning and desilting efforts in preparation for an air show set to be held at Namo Ghat on October 22, 23, and 25.

Weather forecast for September 25 and beyond

The IMD forecast indicates continued rainfall activity across several parts of the country over the coming days.

Northwest India

Rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected to continue over parts of northwest India. Uttarakhand is likely to receive isolated heavy rainfall on September 25 and September 28, while West Uttar Pradesh may see isolated heavy rainfall from September 25 to 27.

East Uttar Pradesh is also expected to experience rainfall activity, with isolated very heavy rainfall forecast during September 25-26.

Central India

Parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh are likely to experience rainfall and thunderstorms. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected in parts of the region, while very heavy rainfall is possible over West Madhya Pradesh and East Madhya Pradesh during the forecast period.

East India

Rainfall is expected across parts of Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha. The IMD has forecast isolated heavy rainfall over Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand on September 25, while Bihar may receive heavy rainfall during September 25-26.

Odisha may also see heavy rainfall on September 25.

Northeast India

Assam and Meghalaya are expected to receive fairly widespread rainfall through the coming days. Parts of Arunachal Pradesh and other northeastern states may also experience scattered rainfall and thunderstorms.

West India

Rainfall activity is likely over Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada during the coming days.

The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. Strong surface winds may persist over parts of the region.

South India

Rainfall activity is expected over parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Rayalaseema.

The IMD has forecast isolated heavy rainfall over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on September 25, with isolated very heavy rainfall also possible over these areas. Gusty winds are also likely over parts of southern India during the forecast period.

Will schools be closed on September 25?

There is no nationwide school holiday on September 25. Closures are being announced by individual state or district administrations based on local conditions and events.
