Bigg Boss 20 joins JioStar's biggest multilingual expansion
Bigg Boss 20 is also part of JioStar's biggest-ever expansion of the franchise. For the first time, the reality show will roll out simultaneously across six languages, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bangla, from September, making it the franchise's largest multilingual launch yet.While Salman Khan returns to host the Hindi edition, the regional versions will once again feature familiar faces. Vijay Sethupathi, Nagarjuna, Kichcha Sudeepa and Mohanlal will helm the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam editions, respectively. Former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly will make his Bigg Boss debut as the host of the Bangla edition, adding another high-profile name to the franchise.
Bigg Boss crosses 500 million viewers across six languages
The scale of the Bigg Boss franchise has grown significantly over the years. According to JioStar, Bigg Boss reached more than 500 million viewers across its six language editions in 2025, clocking over 438 billion viewing minutes, while audience engagement rose 47% from a year earlier.The broadcaster says the Hindi edition alone reaches more than 200 million viewers, while the southern-language versions together attract over 300 million viewers. In southern India, eight out of every 10 television viewers watch Bigg Boss, underlining how the reality show has evolved into one of India's biggest and most successful entertainment franchises.
