Rishabh Pant on Saturday made a public appeal to the chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami helping to buy land there so could shift to his place and move from Delhi.

Rishabh Pant Seeks Help From Uttarakhand CM Over Land Acquisition

Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant, who is currently in Sri Lanka with the national team for the two-Test series, appealed to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on X early Saturday. The 28-year-old cricketer said he has been trying for the past three years to find suitable land to shift his base from Delhi to Uttarakhand and build his first home in his native state.

Pant Wants to Return to His Roots



Pant said his desire to move back to Uttarakhand is driven by his emotional connection with the state and his wish to contribute to its development.

"@pushkardhami hello sir how’s you ??? It’s a long time for me especially being local from Uttrakhand . I have been trying to buy land to shift my base from Delhi to Uttrakhand and I couldn’t find anything facilitating and big to live here I love my Uttrakhand. My humble request to us is please help me in land acquisition cause nowadays it had become nitemare with clarity and even other land is dew which was I supposedly get when I was promoting the state before keeping everything in side I wanna move back to my native place to help and built around Uttrakhand and I want to shif back to my Pahadi people please look into this matter it’s been 3 years didn’t get any land awaiting your answer @pushkardhami sir," he wrote.

Pant Clarifies He Wants to Buy the Land

Following his initial appeal, Pant clarified that he was not seeking land as a free gift. Instead, he said he wanted to purchase the property from the government at the applicable rates so that he could build his first home in Uttarakhand.

"A gift would be lovey for representation out states at the highest level internationally stages but if you allow me I wanna buy it fromGovernment and on there rates at least I can have my first house built in my own state and our state please be helpful. Seriously didn’t know how to do it," he further wrote.

Pant’s Uttarakhand Roots and Tax Contribution


Born in Roorkee in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar district, Rishabh Pant began his cricket journey in the state before moving to Delhi to further his professional career. Although he continues to represent Delhi in domestic cricket, the cricketer has maintained a strong connection with Uttarakhand.

His appeal to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami came soon after reports identified Pant as the state’s highest individual taxpayer for the 2025-26 financial year. He reportedly paid Rs 23.84 crore in income tax during the period.

Pant’s earnings come from multiple sources, including his BCCI contract, match fees, IPL salary and brand endorsements. He was signed by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 27 crore and also has commercial partnerships with several leading brands.
