Musafir Cafe star Mahima Makwana gives a peek inside her Mumbai home, reveals why sunlight was a top priority

Mahima Makwana, known for playing Preeti in Musafir Cafe, has been receiving attention following the romantic drama’s release on Netflix on July 24, 2026. In the series, she plays a mature woman who falls in love with her business partner Chander, portrayed by Vikrant Massey, despite knowing that he continues to love Sudha, played by Vedika Pinto.

Beyond her role in the series, Mahima has also given fans a glimpse into her personal life by opening the doors of her Mumbai home to Mashable India.

Mahima Makwana Reveals What Drew Her To The House

During the home tour, Mahima spoke about the first time she visited the property with her mother and how the natural light immediately caught her attention. She said she has always loved sunlight and wanted a home that felt bright and welcoming.

"I wanted to wake up to light. I'm obsessed with the sun," she shared.

The actress said she instantly connected with the property and knew she wanted to make it her home.

Inside Mahima's Bohemian-Inspired Home

Mahima said she had a bohemian-inspired vision for the interiors, with wood, greenery and bright colours forming the core of the design.

The apartment features wooden furniture in various shades of brown. Instead of filling the relatively compact space with ready-made furniture, several pieces were custom-built and incorporated into the walls to make better use of the available area.

Mahima said she wanted the interiors to feel "raw yet furnished" while retaining a natural and comfortable look.

One section of the living room has also become her favourite spot in the house. She uses the space to read scripts, write and relax after a day of work.

A Special Corner Dedicated To Her Awards

The home tour also included her mother's bedroom, which follows a green colour scheme. A wall in the room is dedicated to Mahima's awards, an idea that came from her mother.

The actress also opened up about her own bedroom, describing it as the most personal part of her home.

Mahima's Bedroom Is Her Most Personal Space

For her bedroom, Mahima opted for muted blue tones to create a calm and peaceful environment. The space also reflects the design elements seen throughout the rest of the house, including natural light, wooden textures and indoor plants.

Mahima admitted that she was slightly nervous about showing this part of her home to the public, describing it as one of the most sacred corners of her personal space.

Mahima Makwana In Musafir Cafe

Musafir Cafe stars Vikrant Massey, Vedika Pinto and Mahima Makwana and is streaming on Netflix. The series has also been renewed for a second season, with Mahima set to return as Preeti alongside Massey and Pinto.
