Monkey kicks and kills elderly woman outside home in Karnataka; incident captured on CCTV

A 91-year-old woman died in Karnataka’s Koppal district after she was allegedly attacked and pushed by a monkey outside her home, while another woman in Vijayawada died after accidentally falling into a vessel containing boiling sambar during a Ganesh Chaturthi ‘annadanam’ programme. The two incidents occurred separately and are being investigated by authorities.

91-year-old woman dies after monkey attack in Karnataka

The deceased in the Karnataka incident was identified as Najamunisa Begum, 91, a resident of BT Patil Nagar in Koppal district. According to the available information, Begum was standing outside her house when a monkey allegedly attacked and pushed her. She suffered serious injuries in the incident and was taken to a hospital for treatment. CCTV footage reportedly captured the monkey attacking the elderly woman. Despite receiving medical treatment, Begum later died from her injuries on Monday. The circumstances surrounding the incident are being examined.

Woman dies after falling into boiling sambar in Vijayawada

In a separate incident, a woman died after suffering severe burn injuries when she accidentally fell into a vessel containing boiling sambar during an ‘annadanam’ programme in Vijayawada. The deceased was identified as Sujatha, a resident of Chittinagar. The incident took place on September 20 during a free food distribution programme organised as part of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.


Sujatha was reportedly helping with cooking arrangements for the programme. While organisers were trying to move a large vessel containing hot sambar, she allegedly lost her balance and fell into the hot vessel. She suffered severe burns and was taken to a government hospital in Vijayawada by her family members and others present at the spot. Despite treatment, she died from her injuries at the hospital.
