Cybercrime has crept into the lives of India's biggest names, and the latest to be caught in its net is actor Kirti Kulhari. The 43-year-old, known for her roles in Uri: The Surgical Strike and Four More Shots Please!, has filed a police complaint after fraudsters allegedly ran up unauthorised charges on her credit card while she was out in Mumbai, nowhere near the transactions.

Kirti Kulhari Caught the fraud after an Alert

As per an ABP report, the ordeal began on the night of July 24. Kulhari, who lives in Versova's Yari Road neighbourhood, was on her way to catch a film at a multiplex in Andheri West when her phone buzzed with a bank notification, a red flag that something was off with her account.

The message flagged a payment of roughly $2,525 (about ₹2.1 lakh) routed to Aeromexico, the Mexican carrier, charged to her credit card. Caught off guard, she got on the phone with her bank's customer care desk right away.

A closer look at her statement revealed the damage went further than one transaction. Investigators say the card had actually been hit four separate times, with the combined unauthorised spending crossing ₹2.43 lakh. The bank moved quickly to freeze the card to prevent any more misuse.

Kirti Kulhari Never Shared PIN, Say Investigators

What's puzzling police is how the breach happened in the first place. By Kulhari's account, she never shared her card PIN or any confidential banking information with anyone, which has pushed investigators toward a different theory: that her card data was likely lifted through a digital route rather than handed over directly.

Officers from Amboli police station, who registered a case against unidentified persons following her complaint, are now working alongside cyber specialists to trace the breach. Their focus is on whether the leak originated from her smartphone, a linked online account, or some other digital channel she may have used. Investigators are combing through transaction logs, digital footprints and banking records to identify a suspect.

What Kirti Kulhari is Doing Now?

The fraud case comes at a busy point in Kulhari's career. She recently wrapped filming on a project that marks her first outing as a producer, a milestone she's spoken about with visible excitement. Over the years, she's built a solid filmography spanning Mission Mangal, Criminal Justice, and Human, alongside her widely loved turn in the Four More Shots Please! franchise.

On the personal side, Kulhari has been in a relationship with actor Rajeev Siddhartha, her co-star from Four More Shots Please!, and the two made their relationship public on social media earlier this year.

As the investigation continues, the case adds to a growing list of digital fraud incidents involving public figures in the country, a reminder that even those with high public visibility aren't immune to the reach of cybercriminals.
