"To ensure the safe and smooth movement of Kanwariyas during Kanwar Yatra–2026, traffic restrictions and diversions have been put in place for heavy goods vehicles bound for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Commuters and transport operators are advised to use the designated alternate routes, plan their journeys in advance, and follow the directions of Delhi Traffic Police personnel. Please cooperate and drive safely," said Delhi Traffic Police in a post on X.
ROADS LIKELY TO BE AFFECTED (NORTHERN RANGE):
- NH-44 (GT Karnal Road) - From Singhu Border to Mukarba Chowk
- Mahatma Gandhi Marg (Outer Ring Road) - From Kingsway Camp to Netaji Subhash Place (NSP)
- Head Gewar Marg (Outer Ring Road) - From Bhalswa Dairy to Madhuban Chowk
- Service Road NH-44 - Singhu Border to Bakoli/Palla stretch
- Outer Ring Road Service Road - Bhalswa Dairy to Mukarba Chowk
TENTATIVE ROUTES FOR KANWARIYAS:
- Singhu Border → Ramdev Chowk (Narela) → Old Bawana → Narela Road → Hanuman Mandir Bawana Canal
- Singhu Border Service Road (NH-44) → Khampur → Bakoli → Palla → Mukarba Chowk → Khatu Shyam Mandir (Bakhtawarpur/Alipur)
- Singhu Border → Alipur Swaroop Nagar Nangli Poona Mukarba Chowk
- Wazirabad → Service Road (Outer Ring Road) → Bhalswa Dairy → Mukarba Chowk
- Traffic on NH-44 from Singhu Border to Budhpur Nala may be diverted via UER-II and Narela-Bawana Road.
- Traffic on the NH-44 Service Road may be diverted through Ramdev Road.
- Traffic from Palla Chowk towards Bakhtawarpur Road may be diverted via Burari Road and Nathupura Road.
- Traffic on the Outer Ring Road Service Road may be diverted via Mukundpur - Bhalswa Cut - Azadpur Chowk - Mukarba Chowk.
- Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTVs) may be stopped/diverted from Singhu Border, Burari Chowk and Madhuban Chowk as per traffic conditions.
DIVERSION / RESTRICTION FOR GOODS VEHICLES
- Goods vehicles bound for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand will not be allowed towards Shastri Park, Khajuri and Bhajanpura from Ring Road.
- Goods vehicles approaching Mukarba Chowk towards Wazirabad will not be permitted to use Signature Bridge or Old Wazirabad Bridge and will be diverted directly towards Chandgi Ram Akhara.
- Goods vehicles approaching from Timarpur will not be permitted to use Wazirabad Flyover and Signature Bridge and will also be diverted directly towards Chandgi Ram Akhara.
- Goods vehicles approaching Yudhister Setu will not be allowed to use Yudhister Setu and will be diverted from Chandgi Ram Akhara Loop, Monastery Loop and the western foot of Yudhister Setu towards Ring Road.
ALTERNATE ROUTES
All goods vehicles are advised to use NH-9 or the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) to reach their respective destinations.General Instructions:
- Please use public transport to help reduce congestion.
- Park your vehicles only in designated parking areas.
- Avoid roadside parking to ensure smooth traffic flow.
- If any unusual or suspicious objects or individuals are noticed, please inform the police immediately.
- Use the Paharganj side road for New Delhi Railway Station and avoid the Ajmeri Gate side.
