‘I have received a lot of love’: Vinod Kambli’s message from Thane care centre reassures fans, says he feels at home

Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli has shared a video message from an elderly care centre in Thane where he is currently staying, drawing attention from cricket fans. In the video, Kambli spoke about his experience at the centre and expressed appreciation for the care and warmth he has received there.

Kambli spoke on camera about the facilities available at the centre, highlighting its hygiene and cleanliness, which he described as "first class". He also spoke about the affection shown to him during his stay.

Kambli says he feels at home at centre

In the video, Kambli said the warmth he had received had made him feel comfortable despite being away from his home.

"I have received a lot of love," Kambli said, emphasising the support and affection he has experienced at the centre.

His remarks focused on the environment around him and the care he has received during his stay in Thane.

Vinod Kambli was once regarded as a player capable of becoming one of the greatest batters in cricket history, but his career ultimately did not reach the heights many had anticipated. He represented India in 17 Tests and 104 ODIs, scoring 1,084 and 2,477 runs respectively.

Kambli and Sachin Tendulkar emerged as two of Indian cricket’s most promising talents after rising through the ranks together during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Their careers, however, followed markedly different paths.

Tendulkar went on to establish himself as one of the most accomplished batters in international cricket. He finished his career with 34,357 international runs and set numerous records across formats.

The former India captain made 200 Test appearances, the highest by any player in the format. He also accumulated 15,921 Test runs, including 51 centuries, and became the fastest batter to reach 15,000 Test runs, achieving the milestone in 300 innings.
