The official Instagram account, @haldiramsuk.restaurants, updated its bio with the message, "We'll be back soon. Stay tuned!", confirming the temporary closure.
In a statement, the company said the restaurant has been closed because of scheduled UKPN electrical works in the area. It stated that the shutdown was necessary to ensure the safety of staff and customers during the planned power interruption. Haldiram's added that the works are beyond its control and apologised for the inconvenience caused.

The company said it would share updates during the week and announce the reopening date once it is confirmed.
Restaurant opened in June
The temporary shutdown comes only weeks after Haldiram's launched its first UK restaurant in June at 19-20 Irving Street, Leicester Square.The 3,000-square-foot outlet has seating for 120 guests indoors and an additional 20 outdoor seats. Unlike the brand's traditional quick-service model, the London restaurant offers a more premium casual dining experience. Its menu includes chole bhature, pav bhaji, raj kachori, an extensive range of chaat dishes, and London-exclusive fusion desserts. The outlet also features a retail section selling Haldiram's packaged sweets and snacks.
The restaurant's opening drew long queues and quickly became a popular talking point among London's Indian community.

Customers await reopening
At the time of writing, Haldiram's has not announced a reopening date.Several customers commented on the restaurant's Instagram page following the closure announcement. One user asked, "When are you going to open?" Another questioned why a reopening announcement would be needed if the closure was expected to last only a week. A third user said they were planning to visit the restaurant and asked whether it would reopen the next day, while another shared that they had visited the outlet only to find it boarded up and said they were looking forward to its reopening.
