While temperatures have eased compared with the recent spell of intense heat, high humidity is expected to continue, making conditions uncomfortable despite the cooler weather.
IMD forecasts light rain across Delhi-NCR
According to the IMD, Delhi is likely to record a maximum temperature of around 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum of about 25 degrees Celsius on Saturday.Relative humidity is expected to range between 75 and 95 per cent, with light showers likely in several parts of the National Capital Region. No weather warning has been issued for the day.
Relief from heat, but humidity persists
Weather conditions have improved over the past few days after Delhi-NCR experienced prolonged heat and humid conditions.On Friday, light cloud cover and intermittent drizzle brought temporary relief. However, humidity remained high, with Delhi recording a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, 0.6 degrees above the seasonal average.
Safdarjung, the city's base weather station, recorded a maximum of 35 degrees Celsius, while Palam recorded 33.5 degrees Celsius, 1.4 degrees below normal.
Rainy weather likely to continue till August 4
The IMD expects similar weather conditions over the next few days.- August 2: Cloudy skies with light rain; maximum around 33°C, minimum 25°C.
- August 3: Overcast conditions with light showers; maximum 33°C, minimum 24°C.
- August 4: Cloudy weather with light rainfall in several areas; maximum 33°C, minimum 23°C.
IMD issues heavy rain alert for 19 states
Apart from Delhi-NCR, the IMD has warned of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds across 19 states, including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.Winds of up to 60 kmph are likely in some areas. The weather department has advised farmers and fishermen to remain cautious, while hilly states could face an increased risk of landslides and isolated hailstorms due to adverse weather conditions.
