Delhi-NCR weather today (July 26): Delhi to get more rain over the next five days; IMD issues yellow alert as Noida and Ghaziabad brace for heavy rainfall

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very light to light rain to continue for the next couple of days in Delhi, with moderate rain possible in the subsequent days. According to data from the IMD, scattered rain was recorded in parts of the city in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, as well as throughout the day on Saturday.

Light rain in Delhi on weekend

The weather office has forecast very light to light rain to continue on Sunday and Monday. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued by the IMD for the coming Tuesday and Wednesday, warning of moderate rain.

"There is a possibility of very light rain to light rain at isolated places accompanied by surface winds of speed 20-30 kmph, gusting to 40 kmph on Sunday and Monday," an IMD official told news agency PTI.

When will it rain in Noida?

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Noida for July 28 and 29, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning. The IMD's forecast for Noida is:

• July 26: Noida is expected to witness a partly cloudy sky, with no major weather activity forecast for the day.
• July 27: The weather is likely to turn partly cloudy, with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers expected across parts of the city.
• July 28: Generally cloudy conditions are forecast, accompanied by one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
• July 29: Cloudy skies are expected to persist, with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers likely during the day.
• July 30: Noida is likely to continue witnessing generally cloudy weather, with intermittent rain or thundershowers expected at one or two places.

Gurugram weather

• July 26: Gurugram is expected to witness a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers during the day.
• July 27: The city is likely to continue with partly cloudy conditions, accompanied by one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
• July 28: Partly cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers are forecast for Gurugram.
• July 29: The weather is expected to remain partly cloudy, with intermittent rain or thundershowers likely across the city.
• July 30: Gurugram is likely to see partly cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers, according to the IMD forecast

Ghaziabad rain forecast

• July 26: Ghaziabad is expected to witness a partly cloudy sky, with no major weather activity forecast for the day.
• July 27: The city is likely to experience a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
• July 28: Generally cloudy conditions are forecast, accompanied by one or two spells of rain or thundershowers. A heavy rainfall and thunderstorm with lightning warning has also been issued.
• July 29: Cloudy skies are expected to persist, with a few spells of rain or thundershowers likely. IMD has also issued a heavy rainfall and thunderstorm with lightning warning.
• July 30: Ghaziabad is likely to witness generally cloudy weather with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers, with no weather warning in place.
