Calculation error? Rs 9 crore refund for 'Mannat' coming Shah Rukh Khan’s way from Maharashtra government

The Maharashtra government will refund Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan Rs 9 crore, which he had paid in excess for the conversion of the lease of his sea-facing bungalow, 'Mannat'.

On Saturday, the resident suburban collector, Satish Bagal, confirmed that in 2019, Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan had converted the lease of the heritage property in Bandra to 'class 1 complete ownership' and paid a premium to the government for this change.

However, a tabulation error was later discovered, which led to the premium being calculated incorrectly. Upon this discovery, the Khans filed an application with the revenue authority for a refund. The refund was sanctioned earlier this week, said Bagal.


Although it was reported that the actor had paid more than Rs 25 crore in premium, officials have not yet confirmed the exact figure.
