8:30 AM onwards, Sakshi Chaudhary in boxing
Indian boxer Sakshi Chaudhary will face Philippines’ Aira Villegas in the women’s 51kg round of 32 from 8:30 AM onwards.Villegas is an Olympic bronze medallist, making the bout one of the notable boxing contests on India’s September 22 schedule. Sakshi will need a win to progress to the next stage of the competition.
10:30 AM, India vs Sri Lanka women’s cricket final
The biggest event of the day comes at 10:30 AM when India faces Sri Lanka in the women’s cricket gold-medal match.India is the defending Asian Games champion after winning gold at Hangzhou 2023. A victory in the final would give India its first gold medal of the Aichi-Nagoya Games. Sri Lanka, meanwhile, will be looking to stop India from retaining the title.

Roshibina Devi will compete in the women’s 60kg sanda quarter-final in the afternoon. She is one win away from securing a medal.Aryan will also compete in the men’s sanda 56kg quarter-final, giving India another opportunity to enter the medal stages. The latest schedules place the bouts in the afternoon, with timings listed from around 3:15 PM for Roshibina and around 4 PM for Aryan.
3:30 PM, India vs Sri Lanka men’s hockey
India’s men’s hockey team will face Sri Lanka in a Pool A match at 3:30 PM.The fixture gives Indian fans another India-Sri Lanka contest on a day already dominated by the women’s cricket final between the two countries.
